Arch11 Wins National Kitchen Design Awards

Arch 11 received awards and prize money in two categories at the national awards ceremony for the Sub-Zero and Wolf Kitchen Design Competition, sometimes called the “Oscars of kitchen design.” Arch 11 was awarded both the national Designers’ Choice Award and the second-place national kitchen design award for their Syncline Kitchen.

These biennial awards are known for offering insight into the latest design and we are thrilled to have one of our designs selected in an international event as competitive as the Sub-Zero and Wolf Kitchen Design Competition – as well as to be recognized by our design peers for the Designers’ Choice award. The kitchen is in the Syncline House residence, which received LEED gold certification.
The Syncline kitchen combines timeless natural materials like Carrara Marble and American Walnut with the high-tech convenience of Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances in a clean-lined design that integrates a cook’s kitchen with an open plan seating space. A receding glass wall allows the counter to act as outdoor bar seating. A large “appliance garage” keeps blender, toaster, and juicer easily accessible but hidden from view to maintain the kitchen’s modernist appeal.

Syncline House Wins Sub-Zero / Wolf Kitchen Design Contest

Arch11 was selected as the Colorado Regional winner of the Sub-Zero / Wolf Kitchen Design Contest for the Syncline House. The contest winners were announced at an awards ceremony held on February 4, 2010 at Roth Distributing in Denver, Colorado. A nationally known and recognized biannual awards program, the contest acknowledges kitchens that were designed and built between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009. Our entry now advances to the national competition; winners will be announced at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida March 28, 2010. Additionally, we were awarded Regional Award of Designers Choice by our peers in attendance at the February awards ceremony.

Arch11 wins A.I.A. Colorado North Firm of the Year

Arch 11 Inc. was awarded 2009 Firm of the Year by the Colorado AIA north chapter. The selection committee noted, “Arch 11 exhibits a firmly-held belief in the poetics of space and willingness to embrace and be leaders in the disciplines of technology and sustainability,” and “their commitment to craft, detailing and design integrity is unparalleled….arch 11 exhibits a critical sensitivity to the power of place.”

Arch11 at Design Within Reach Designer Dating

Arch11 will be participating in the DWR Boulder designer matchmaking series with an evening devoted to architecture. Come join us to and learn about our services in a low-key and fun setting. In our variation of speed dating, will have ten minutes to showcase our approach and expertise in a brief presentation.

The event will be from 6:30pm – 9:30pm, Thursday September 17, 2009.
