A house designed for two musicians, specific care is given to the acoustic qualities of the interior space allowing live performance spaces juxtaposed with quiet contemplative spaces. A simple palette of stone, glass and naturally finished wood is used throughout the design.
Designed to be energy independent (including the pool heat), of fully sustainable materials and state of the art energy systems, this modern home blurs the boundaries of inside and out. A pre-manufactured steel frame, infilled with structural insulated panels, the design shortens delivery and construction time over traditional building methods. The grass roof reduces cooling load, controls runoff and extends the life of the roof membrane.
