Designed to house seven pieces of canonic American modern art. Sited atop a mesa east of Boulder, CO, the strict form of the two-bedroom pavilion is inspired by Donald Judd and sits in contrast to the sloping landscape revealing the topography as a constant level line. The north wall of insulated concrete dematerializes as it moves east forming a series of abstract pilasters in the landscape. The palette of insulated preciously detailed concrete, aluminum and glass are meant to recede allowing the landscape and art to have presence.
3,200-sq ft home and 700-sq ft garage.
Construction to start summer 2017.
