An Ohio native, Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, where he was awarded the AIA Graduate Scholarship and AIA Outstanding Thesis Award. His education laid the foundation for strong conceptual design grounded in practicality intrinsic to the act of building.
Matt worked at firms in cities across the country including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, and is a licensed Architect in North Carolina, Colorado, and Maryland. With nearly twenty years of experience, he designed projects ranging from high-end residential, multi-family, and museums, to educational, commercial, and historic adaptive reuse. His work is recognized by numerous local, national, and international design awards.
Through his varied experience, Matt developed a facility to host open dialogues empowering and inspiring clients and design teams to the bounds of creative solutions, embracing sustainable strategies, and driving innovation. On each project, he strives to investigate the many influences that uniquely anchor a project to its program and setting through form, space, light, and material.
In his time away from the office, Matt likes to reset on his mountain bike and hike with his wife and dog in the Colorado backcountry.
