House 60

Sited atop a bluff in the foothills of Colorado, this home is vertically organized on a narrow site to take advantage of views and an existing foundation.

The house presents a private face with minimal fenestration to the suburban street. Upon entering and passing through the denser service areas at the front of the house, dramatic town and foothills views are revealed through the curtain wall at the south face.

A simple, minimalist ethic drives the program and the material pallet. A single grey vertical wood siding, clads the entirety of the façade. Windows along the street face are minimal and carefully placed, including the large square window that helps to break down the scale of the two-story façade. The south face is a seamless residential curtain wall, taking advantage of the expansive horizon, while providing ample daylight and allowing a sensation of hovering above the landscape.
